Datamars, a leading global supplier of high performance RFID-based solutions for companion animal and textile identification, demonstrates its complete ID solutions for the industrial laundry process at Texcare International, taking place in Frankfurt am Main from May 31 to June 4, 2008.

At the Datamars booth (D.50, hall 8.0), visitors can see RFID in action at six stations that represent all the important steps in a typical laundry cycle: from the customer location to the laundry's soil count and sort areas, the clean count and check area up to delivery. The stations, completely outfitted with the latest RFID technology from Datamars, will be interconnected and interfaced with a software solution to allow visitors to experience first hand the convenience and accuracy of RFID-enabled laundry processes.

"There is an increasing demand for RFID technology in the industrial laundry and textile rental sectors, where it can revolutionize key business processes and deliver exceptional productivity increases, functionality improvements and cost reductions," says Ken Boyle, Chief Marketing Officer at Datamars. "Our objective is to ensure that the technology is accessible to businesses of all sizes by bundling hardware and software components to deliver total customized ID solutions that are affordable and truly meet the individual needs and budgets of our customers. Our alliance with the leading automation and logistics solutions provider for the textile rental business worldwide, ABS, reflects this objective."

Datamars develops, designs and manufactures all the RFID tags, readers and antennas that power its RFID-based solutions. "We've always focused on developing fully integrated product portfolios which ensure that a Datamars identification solution has the highest performance available on the market," says Ruedi D. R??sli, Sales Director EMEA & Asia at Datamars. "Continuing our tradition of innovation, at this year's Texcare International we are introducing the world's smallest and thinnest laundry chip ever. It's with the highest quality RFID components that you build the best performing, most robust and most efficient solutions for the identification and tracking of textiles throughout the whole laundry process."

Among the brand new products launched at this year's Texcare show are:

  • PersonalChip - the smallest and thinnest laundry chip on the market. This revolutionary HF chip is ideal for tagging personal garments such as shirts, skirts and even underwear and has been designed especially for the chipping of personal garments of nursing home residents. It is part of Datamars' complete ID solution for the nursing home sector.

  • Mid-Range Reader - a new HF reader especially developed for manual sorting and counting applications. In combination with Datamars TableTop Antennas and the new PersonalChip, it makes the perfect RFID package for the nursing home market. The Mid-Range Reader is a basic version of the state-of the-art Single Channel and Multi Channel HF readers introduced by Datamars just last year, and is offered at a very competitive price. It completes the company's HF reader portfolio, enabling Datamars to offer the right reader for every type of application (identification of garments, linens, mats, etc.)

Datamars will also be showcasing a range of solutions for specific laundry and rental textile applications, including:

  • RFID Locker - a custom ID solution for garment collection at the customer site

  • RFID Sorting table - a custom ID solution for manual soil count at the laundry premises

  • Twin Antenna - a custom ID solution for manual clean check of garment packs at the laundry premises

  • Mat solution: complete mat storage and check-in/-out solution including software

In addition to a broad range of RFID tags, readers and both standard and customized antennas, Datamars also offers software, consulting and integration services for a complete solution. Founded in 1988, Datamars celebrates 20 years of extraordinarily successful activity this year and presents itself to visitors with its new corporate identity.
