OMNIKEY, one of the world's leading manufacturers of innovative smart card readers, has readied its complete line of PC-connected contact smart card readers for the new Microsoft operating system, Vista.

Soon to be introduced to corporate users, the successor of Windows XP is being promoted as "the most secure Windows operating system of all time". OMNIKEY has made sure that corporate end-users who switch to Vista can continue to rely on the company's advanced smart card reader technology.

All of OMNIKEY's PC-connected contact smart card reader models, including the CardMan 3021, 3121, 3621, 3821, 4040, 4321, and 6121 can be utilized for secure log-on to company networks or online applications with all Microsoft Vista product packages. These include both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the new operating system.

The plug & play functionality of the CardMan 3121 family continues to be supported as well: the drivers, which are WHQL certified and digitally signed, are automatically downloaded from the Microsoft website when the reader is connected to the PC. They can also be easily found in the download section on the OMNIKEY website: www.omnikey.com.

For all applications running on Microsoft Vista, from corporate ID to e-health and e-banking, OMNIKEY smart card readers are, once again, the first choice.
